Benefit of Leasing a MY11 or MY10 Vehicle Through Volvo's Preferred Finance Provider US Bank

When leasing a vehicle through US Bank, the Safe + Sound coverage term is determined by the length of the lease. For example:
  • A 60 month lease will receive 60 months of coverage or 60,000 miles of coverage; whichever comes first.
  • A 48 month lease will receive 48 months of coverage or 48,000 miles of coverage; whichever comes first.
  • A 36 month lease will receive 48 months of coverage or 36,000 miles of coverage; whichever comes first.

Benefit of Leasing a MY11 or MY10 Vehicle Through a Finance Source Other than US Bank

When leasing through a finance source other than US bank, the maximum coverage will be 36 months or 36,000 miles; whichever occurs first.

The Volvo Safe + Sound Coverage Plan is a U.S.-specific program and is valid only when repairs are performed at an authorized U.S. Volvo Retailer subject to all applicable exclusions or limitations. Safe + Sound Coverage is transferable if the vehicle is purchased; however, it is not transferable if the vehicle is leased. It applies to eligible 2009, 2010 and 2011 Model Year U.S. specification Volvo vehicles purchased in the U.S. between January 5, 2010 and March 31, 2010 (excluding fleet vehicles).

The Safe + Sound Coverage Plan warranty provides comprehensive coverage for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Additional warranties cover corrosion, seat belts, the supplemental restraint system, emission systems, genuine Volvo replacement parts and genuine Volvo accessories.

5 Years Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance

Volvo is committed to a premium ownership experience for its customers. To further enhance your ownership experience, all 2009 and 2010 model year Volvo vehicles sold new to a retail customer and registered in the US by an authorized Volvo dealer will include Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance*. This maintenance program is designed to supplement your Volvo warranty and will help to ensure trouble-free operation of your Volvo vehicle.

The Safe + Sound Coverage Plan offers the following maintenance enhancements:

Scheduled maintenance coverage for the first 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
The next four regularly scheduled maintenance services at 37,500, 45,000, 52,500 and 60,000 miles.

In addition to the normal service and inspection items listed below, each scheduled maintenance service includes a diagnostic check of passive and active safety systems. Also included in your scheduled maintenance service is a systems check of the on-board computer monitoring functions.

These regularly scheduled maintenance service checks performed by your authorized Volvo dealer will help ensure trouble free operation of your Volvo.   

Through the Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program and the Volvo Safe + Sound Coverage Plan, your Volvo dealer may be authorized to perform functional or performance enhancements through software upgrades.  This will keep your Volvo up to the latest recommended standards.

At the discretion of Volvo Cars of North America, applicable software upgrades may be downloadable to your vehicle.

Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance and the Volvo Safe + Sound Coverage Plan are honored at any authorized Volvo dealer in the United States. Coverage begins with the date the vehicle is delivered to the original purchaser or the original lessee, or on the date the vehicle is placed in service as a "demonstrator." This program is associated with the vehicle and cannot be transferred to another vehicle. Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance and the Safe + Sound Coverage Plan are transferred automatically to subsequent owners of the vehicle within the program period.

Each recommended service must be performed within 1,500 miles of the normal service interval listed in the Warranty and Maintenance Records Information booklet. Service intervals missed by the owner will not be performed. An authorized Volvo dealer will perform the service that is appropriate for the mileage or age of the vehicle. Volvo recommends that you bring your vehicle in for service at least once a year regardless of mileage.

Items Not Covered:

Wear items outlined on page 11 of the Warranty and Maintenance Records Information manual with the exception of brake pads, brake discs and wiper inserts.
     
  • Damage to the vehicle resulting from normal wear and tear or abuse.
  • Vehicles severely damaged and/or declared to be total loss by an insurer.
  • Damage due to poor fuel quality, abuse, misuse, neglect, alteration, fire, accident, and flood/water damage.
  • Severe operating conditions requiring additional services.
  • Customer requested services or Volvo retailer suggested services not specified in the Volvo Warranty and Maintenance Records Information booklet.
  • All MY09 Volvo's sold to retail customers include 7,500, 15,000, 22,500 and 30,000 mile scheduled services performed within four years from in service date at no charge.

Our wear & tear coverage is what makes our new plan truly safe & sound.

That's why our Safe + Sound Coverage Plan offers you unlimited wear & tear coverage for five years. And that means that your brake pads, rotors and wiper inserts will be replaced as needed for wear and/or manufacturing defects - free of charge.

Wear items include :
  • Brake pads (front/rear)
  • Brake rotors (front/rear - only in conjunction with a covered brake pad replacement)
  • Wiper inserts
